Independence Day is around the corner, and you may be wondering where to head out for the weekend. Luckily, Arizona has no shortage of patriotic events that will wow you and your friends.
2022’s 4th of July marks the perfect opportunity for you to grab some eegee’s and celebrate being an American. Here are a few worthy mentions with potentially the right vibe and atmosphere to get you going when you’re Googling “festival near me”.
This festival has been a major tourist attraction since the 1950s. The July 4th celebration is regarded as the premier celebration in the Valley. The Kiwanis Club’s Firework Spectacular over Tempe Town Lake may be the climax of the evening, but our favorite part is snacking with friends up until the main event.
Fireworks are best enjoyed with a delicious sub in hand and sipping on an ice-cold eegee. More eegee’s locations are popping up around the East Valley, just type in “eegee’s” in Google Maps and you’ll be directed to your nearest location.
The All-American Festival would be perfect if you reside around the Peoria area or will be there for the Independence Day celebrations. The festival features family-centric, fun activities like face-painting, giant water slides and cornhole tournaments.
Children, teens and adults with sensory needs can enjoy the celebrations from the Sensory Room in the Visitor’s Clubhouse. Unless you want to opt for a VIP experience, you can gain access to the event and participate in all activities for free.
This year’s Arizona Celebration of Freedom will be held in the Mesa Convention Center and the Mesa Amphitheater. The evening will feature a spectacular display of rich American history, representing notable American buildings and flag presentations. It will be an evening of unrivaled and memorable entertainment in every sense. In addition, a memorial for the fallen Arizona heroes in Afghanistan and Iraq will be held within the Convention Center.
Another free family-friendly event in the valley is happening at Gilbert Regional Park, located at 3005 E Queen Creek Rd, Gilbert, AZ 85298. From 5-9:30 pm on the 4th of July, you’ll get to experience live performances, aerial entertainment and fireworks! And most importantly, when you need a chilly refreshing drink to help cool you off from the summer heat, eegee’s is less than a 10-minute drive away!
This Independence Day, Oro Valley is throwing a laser light show from 5-9 pm at James D. Kreigh Park in lieu of fireworks. Enjoy an exciting laser light show, food trucks, a beer garden, face painting, family-friendly activities and live music by The Petty Breakers, a Tom Petty cover band.
On your way over to this event don’t forget to stop by the nearest eegee’s to fill up before the night’s festivities.
Celebrate early on July 3rd this year with the town of Marana’s annual Star-Spangled spectacular event! Festivities include a traditional fireworks finale, free splash pad, field games, inflatables, live musical performances, exhibitors, Musical Instrument Petting Zoo presented by the Civic Orchestra of Tucson, and a car show presented by Obsessions Car Club.
Don’t let an empty stomach hold you back from all the fun, make sure to head out early to grab dinner at eegee’s beforehand.
This Scottsdale event features arguably one of Arizona’s largest fireworks displays. The event is packed with activities for the old and young, like face painting, balloon artistry and snow sliding. Your experience depends on which ticket you purchase.
VIP Backyard Barbecue ticket holders have access to free parking, an air-conditioned hall, a buffet barbecue and live music. Owning a Premier Polo Parking ticket gives you BYOP (Bring Your Own Party) privileges and watching fireworks from a larger car parking area. General admission has some form of BYOP privileges and fireworks viewing from the reserved portion of a hall. Get a Party Pak and 3-foot Subs at eegee’s to turn the celebration up a notch for a fun summer weekend activity.
eegee’s was founded in September 1971 when the weather was at its peak. What began as a solution to remedy the people’s thirst in the heat soon evolved into a food chain that continues to capture the hearts of Tucsonans and Phoenicians.
